Mystery Number 3

It's a mystery to me but maybe not to you? Let me know if you have the answer.
Is this really a joker? (the truth is revealed below)

Send me your answer.
Responses:
Patrick: What's the man in the background doing with that enormous match.
Dominique: Il faut que vous apprennez un peu de l'histoire avant demander ces questions ridicule.
Marcel: This is not a joker but the Jack (Valet) of clubs.
Chris: This rare and expensive deck is still available in the French shops. Make me an offer.
Alexander: To me it looks as a Jack of clubs.
Cāline: c'est pas un joker mais un valet
Delphine: He doesn't look much of a joker to me, more a viscious thug.

At last the truth about this misleading French JOKER:

Yes, it really is a joker from the "Jean d'Arc" deck published by "Art et Lettres". The confusion is partly because French decks don't have Jacks, they have Valets.
Here's the Valet of clubs for this deck; the Earl of Shrewsbury who led the English forces.

But why the club symbol on the joker?
It may be because the club cards represent the English side in the war with France, and I believe it was Bishop CAUCHON (the joker) who sold Joan of Arc to the English who then burned her.
